Description
This print celebrates one of my favourite places in London, the Barbican. I admire so many things about this complex of buildings, from the sheer scale and ambition to the attention to detail and cohesive aesthetics that run through every building. The complex was designed by architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, whose first work was the ground-breaking Golden Lane Estate immediately north of the Barbican. The site was officially opened in 1969, you can watch a film from 1969 here https://youtu.be/vLPlJsoVq8k.
