The first of a regular series of prints celebrating pioneers in international modernism. Our first features Mies van der Rohe widely acknowledged as one of the twentieth century’s greatest architects. He was a pivotal figure in modern architecture drawing together open space and highlighting and exposing the construction materials as a critical design feature.

He embraced an industrial aesthetic with buildings constructed from modern materials such as steel and plate glass defining interior spaces.
